General Description and Program
The Master of Christian Education degree is a two year program that provides in-depth course work for those who wish to be equipped with education competence needed to assist Christian individuals and families both in and out of the local church context.
The degree program requires 45 semester credits.
As many as 21 semester credits of graduate work may be transferred from another institution.
The goals of the Master of Christian Education program are to:
- To prepare students for practical education ministry; and
- To prepare students for education related services in church and community.
Learning Outcome:
- Upon completing this degree, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate general knowledge of Bible and theology;
- Integrate Bible/theology and education;
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of education theories in specific area(s);
- Demonstrate leadership and practical skills for education and its related services;
- Demonstrate critical thinking ability for academic research; and
- Demonstrate personal and spiritual maturity as a care giving professional;
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, knowledge, and/or skills in education
Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the Master of Christian Education program the student is required to have completed a minimum of 45 semester credits with a 2.5 GPA or above. At least 24 credits must be completed at Westminster International University.
Field Practice
Westminster International University aims to prepare students to become full-time workers or lay leaders through on-the-job training. In order to serve God and the Church more effectively, all graduate students must participate in ministry in addition to their classroom experience.
